Executive Director: Darryl Lindenbach

DarrylA dynamic community builder and arts entrepreneur, Darryl Lindenbach has been responsible for creating and leading cultural organizations across Western Canada over the past two decades. He is committed to building strong communities through the arts and working to ensure that artists and audiences of all ages have the opportunity to explore and enjoy all that the arts has to offer.

For 10 years Darryl worked as a theatre director, designer and artistic director/producer focusing on multi-disciplinary & musical theatre creation across Western Canada. He has founded three arts organizations including a performing arts school in Saskatchewan, and has directed or designed over 60 productions including West Side Story, FAME and The Hobbit.

Darryl moved to Alberta in 1998 to assume the role of Executive Director and Artistic Producer of Fringe Theatre Adventures (FTA) in Edmonton, producer of North America's largest Fringe Theatre Festival. While at FTA he worked to establish innovative partnerships and reach new markets and by doing so significantly increased the company's operating budget. During the last half of his tenure, he also led the company through the fundraising, construction and commissioning phases of a $9 million redevelopment of its home - The TransAlta Arts Barns – a 40,000 square foot multi-use arts facility located in the heart of Edmonton's Theatre District.

Following his tenure at FTA, Darryl has provided consulting services, and assumed leadership roles, in the business, sport and civic government sectors in Alberta. Prior to returning to the arts sector in 2006, he was pleased to assume the role of Executive Director of the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation, a charitable foundation focused on changing lives to build healthy communities.

Darryl is pleased to be leading the country's most ambitious and innovative dance organization and working with some of the world's leading artists to further advance the reputation of arts and culture in Alberta and Canada.
