Bring the curriculum from the classroom to the stage with Alberta Ballet's Discover Dance Student Series!
Alberta Ballet is pleased to offer two exciting Discover Dance performances for the upcoming 2008-2009 Season: A Midsummer Night's Dream in October and Alice in Wonderland in March/April.
These ballets will provide teachers with an opportunity to enhance learning by educating, engaging and entertaining student audiences. Each performance is followed by a Question and Answer period where students have the opportunity to ask the Artistic Director and dancers about the performance or ballet.
In addition, participating teachers receive a Study Guide that includes relevant information about each performance, as well as helpful tips for curriculum tie-ins and classroom activities.

Tumble down the rabbit hole with Alice to an enchanting world of comic eccentricity. Meet the high jumping White Rabbit, a calculating Caterpillar and join a mad tea party of acrobatic craziness. In this topsy-turvy world, Alice will confront the tyrannical Queen of Hearts in a vast Garden of Roses. This enthralling tale will linger in your mind long after the curtain has come down. Edmund Stripe's adaptation of Lewis Carroll's classic promises to astound audiences as a fantastic, fun-filled, family-friendly adventure.
Stripe's action-packed, two-act Alice is engineered to enchant youngsters but has enough technical sophistication and charm to satisfy adult ballet aficionados, too.
