The Fiddle and The Drum not to be missed

If there was one reason why the Esplanade was built, it was to give this city a venue to host shows like "The Fiddle and The Drum" which made its world premiere Friday at the event centre.

The ballet, created through a collaboration between famed Canadian musician Joni Mitchell and the Alberta Ballet, will undoubtedly move on to much larger centres once its inaugural 2009 tour of the prairies winds up.

Those who may feel that the ballet may not be for them are unlikely to find anything more accessible or enjoyable in the form of interpretive dance.
