Tumble Down the Rabbit Hole with Alberta Ballet's Alice in Wonderland

Calgary/Edmonton, AB - Due to strong demand from those who missed it the first time, Alberta Ballet is proud to bring back Edmund Stripe's Alice in Wonderland. A family favourite and one of the most acclaimed productions in the Company's history, Alice in Wonderland is the classic adventure story of Alice's tumble down the rabbit hole into an enchanted world full of strange characters and magical adventures. Join Alice as she follows the White Rabbit, takes tea with the Hatter, teases Tweedledum and Tweedledee, meets the Cheshire Cat and stands up to the Queen of Hearts.

"This is a fun, eccentric work, perfect for children and adults alike." says Stripe. "Alice in Wonderland will linger in your mind long after the curtain has come down."

The role of Alice will be performed by Laëtitia Clément and Nadezhda Vostrikov (last seen as Klara in the world premiere of The Nutcracker), the White Rabbit by Yukichi Hattori and the Hatter by Blair Puente. Clément and Puente eagerly and skillfully return to these roles, having first performed them in the 2006 premiere of Alice in Wonderland.

". . . a wacky dream world transformed through the magic of dance into pure enchantment"
- Calgary Herald

"A full-length story ballet that matches comic charm with virtuosic dancing, and fulfils the promise of 'something for everyone'"
- Edmonton Journal

"Stripe's action-packed, two-act Alice is engineered to enchant youngsters but has enough technical sophistication and charm to satisfy adult ballet aficionados, too."
- National Post
