This world premiere takes its inspiration from the 1697 Charles Perrault version, the first version to introduce the characters we’ve come to know and love in Cinderella. The audience will delight at all of Perrault’s pivotal elements: the magical Fairy Godmother, the hilarious Stepsisters, and of course a handsome Prince. Sparkling at the story’s centre is a heroine who is empowered by the perseverance of an optimistic spirit and a special pair of shoes.

Imagined by our own Associate Artistic Director Christopher Anderson, this classical telling will spring to life in the vibrant sets and costumes created by the late Peter Farmer, a British theatre designer acclaimed for crafting colourful and enchanting worlds for fairy tale ballets.

The romance of our new Cinderella will sweep both the young and the young-at-heart into this fairy tale’s timeless dream.

Created in the great tradition of classical ballets for the entire family, this exciting world premiere is American Christopher Anderson’s choreographic debut with us. I’m so proud to see it added to our repertoire.
