Barbara Palmer Fund for New Works

Donations to the Barbara Palmer Fund for New Works support the creation of new repertoire. These donations invest in the aspirations of tomorrow’s Alberta Ballet, inspiring audiences and dancers alike!

Alberta Ballet has set an ambitious goal: to stage five brand new productions between now and June 2019. Our 17/18 season features premieres of two new works: All of Us (The Tragically Hip Ballet) and Cinderella, our first new family ballet in ten years.

Creative Partner Recognition: This season, we’re also offering a unique program that connects the Barbara Palmer Fund for New Works donors directly to Artistic Director Jean Grand-Maître's latest creation, All of Us (The Tragically Hip Ballet).

Creative Partner recognition is open to donors who contribute $1000 or more. These donations help support the creative work associated with a specific song in All of Us: artistic creation, choreography, costumes and dancer rehearsal. You will be recognized in association with your chosen song in the All of Us playbill.

To donate please contact donate@albertaballet.com or call Sam Uhlich at 403.245.4222 ext. 555 to learn more about available songs.

Dancer Development

Dancers, like professional athletes, need to position themselves for a career path after they retire from the stage. A dancer’s professional performance career is brief, and Alberta Ballet would like to ensure the continued success of our company dancers. This year, the fund provided $25,000 toward dancer training in areas like Emergency Medical Technician training, Human Resources Certification, and Kinesiology studies.

You can be part of supporting Alberta Ballet dancers in their pursuits. Contribute to the Dancer Development fund to help our dancers prepare for post-dance opportunities!

To donate please contact donate@albertaballet.com or call 403.245.4222 ext. 555.

Supporting the School of Alberta Ballet

Training for a professional dance career takes great commitment and determination. On top of academic studies, the students at the School of Alberta Ballet train for 20 to 30 hours a week in classical and contemporary ballet where they develop their technique and master their artistry. To give more aspiring dancers access to this program, the School provides scholarships to over 60 youth in grades 7 to Post-Secondary annually, totalling over $400,000 in financial support.

Help us provide these aspiring young artists with the support they need. Donate now to the Scholarship Fund and help us train the next generation of Alberta Ballet dancers!

Did you know? You can name a scholarship on behalf of your family, student or organization for an annual donation of $3,000 or more! Contact donate@albertaballet.com or call 403-245-4222 ext. 555 for details on our Scholarship naming program.
