SCHOOL OF ALBERTA BALLET PRESENTS
Jun 9 (Evening only)
This season, the School of Alberta Ballet’s Professional Division students will perform Paquita, the story of a Spanish gypsy who saves the life of Lucien, a French aristocrat, before learning her own past isn’t what it seems. Originally choreographed by Joseph Mazilier and later staged in Russia by Marius Petipa, this is a ballet with a rich history that is now romancing a new generation of fans.
The Year-End Performance will also include the Grand Défilé. The selections beautifully showcase the talent and dedication of the School’s Professional Division students in the practice of their craft. The production encompasses students as young as 12 years old through to the School’s Professional Graduate students. The quality of the performance will leave you in awe at how accomplished these dancers are.
