Alberta Ballet Announces 2018/19 Board of Directors

December 3, 2018 – Calgary and Edmonton – New appointments to the Alberta Ballet Board of Directors were made at Alberta Ballet’s Annual General Meeting. Of the 17-member board, eight are newly appointed while nine members are continuing their terms.

Daryl Fridhandler, Q.C. has been elected as Chair of the Board. Former Chair Larry Clausen is stepping down after three years as Chair, a term during which Alberta Ballet attained many successes, most notably eliminating its accumulated deficit. Read More

Alberta Ballet School auditions taking place next week

November 14, 2018 - Young dancers striving to join a professional dance company are invited to take part in auditions this month to attend the Alberta Ballet School.

On Tuesday, November 20, aspiring dancers from Grades 5-12, and post-secondary students are invited to attend the studio for a chance to secure a spot in the Summer Intensive training program. Read More

November 7, 2018 – Calgary AB - Alberta Ballet is proud to present the 10th anniversary edition of The Nutcracker, an annual event steeped in holiday tradition! Alberta Ballet’s The Nutcracker captures the magical elements of a Victorian Christmas with its attentively designed sets and costumes designed by Emmy Award winner Zack Brown. Choreographer Edmund Stripe set the story in pre-revolutionary Russia (St. Petersburg), a fitting period as The Nutcracker first premiered as a ballet in St. Petersburg in 1892.

Alberta Ballet Announces Casting for The Sleeping Beauty
