Live music accompanies all ballet classes.

  • Students in the Teen Recreational Program attend 2 ballet classes per week.

Who is this program for?

-Teens who are new to dance or are looking to get back into the studio after some time away

-Teens who participate in other sports and are interesting in complementing their training by enhancing posture, balance and flexibility.

Teen Recreational Program - (Fall and Winter Sessionals)

For teens who would prefer a partial year program, we offer a fall sessional (Sept. – Jan. and a winter sessional (Feb. - Jun.)

Students registered in our winter sessional also have the opportunity to participate in our annual Year End Performance.

Teen Experienced Program

Previous dance training is required for the Experienced Program. Interested students are encouraged to contact us so we can find the level that best suits your goals.

Our Teen Experienced Program offers dance students an engaging program of in-depth ballet and contemporary dance training.

  • Students in the Experienced Program attend 2 ballet classes and 1 contemporary class per week.

Live music accompanies all ballet classes in this program.

The Teen Experienced Program follows the Alberta Ballet School curriculum, a training program that guides the development of safe and artistically skilled dancers. Students who have a strong ballet foundation and are ready to deepen their engagement of study are ideal candidates for this program.

*Students registered in this program may be eligible to audition to perform in Alberta Ballet’s The Nutcracker and other productions containing children's casts.

Syllabus Ballet

Students in the Experienced Program have the option to add Syllabus Ballet to their study. The syllabus class focuses on material required for Cecchetti and RAD method exams. Students are not required to take the exam, but Syllabus Ballet is a great way to enhance their program and training.

**If you are unsure of your placement for Syllabus, please contact us for best placement.

Commercial Jazz Technique

Available for dancers registered in a full-year Teen Ballet program. Commercial Jazz Technique class is designed for dancers to explore different jazz styles and techniques to supplement their regular ballet studies. Set to contemporary music, dancers explore different qualities and dynamics of movement. This class fosters an appreciation for multiple genres by studying the historical origins of popular dance.
