Artistic Director Francesco Ventriglia brings Henrik Ibsen’s epic tale to the stage in Peer Gynt, a bold new ballet that merges powerful storytelling with expressive dance. Set to Edvard Grieg’s richly textured score, this production follows the restless dreamer Peer Gynt on a journey that moves between worlds both real and imagined. Featuring set design by Canadian artist Erik Olson and costumes by Gianluca Falaschi, the production unfolds within a striking visual world that enhances every moment of the story.
Driven by adventure, ambition, and illusion, Peer searches for meaning as he travels through moments of triumph, temptation, and loss. From sweeping landscapes to fantastical encounters, a richly imagined visual world carries audiences through the many chapters of his extraordinary life.
The story’s exploration of identity and self-discovery comes to life through dynamic movement, vivid theatrical imagery, and dramatic storytelling. Blending narrative, music, and striking choreography, Ventriglia’s Peer Gynt transforms a celebrated literary work into a sweeping ballet experience that reflects on the choices that shape who we become.
