Gift it forward

Everyone deserves to experience the magic of dance. Alberta Ballet outreach programs reduce barriers for Albertans including vulnerable youth, new Canadians and low-income families to enjoy the physical, mental and social benefits of dance. Your gift ensures everyone has a place in our studios and theatres, enriching their lives and our communities.

Outreach Classes
Alberta Ballet is bringing the magic of dance to more youth in partnership with community centres and social service agencies across the province.

These beginner ballet programs are offered at no cost and are designed to increase accessibility to the benefits of dance for families who face barriers preventing them from participating in recreation or arts activities. Classes help youth to nurture their self-expression; strengthen physical health; connect with new friends; increase confidence and find a sense of belonging in a safe, fun and welcoming space.

No previous experience is necessary, and no uniform is required.

Welcoming Newcomers

Since 2019, Alberta Ballet has connected more than 2,600 new Canadians with the magic of dance thanks to the support of our donors and sponsors.

The arts play a key role in supporting immigrants to connect to their new communities, reduce feelings of social isolation, and encourage a sense of belonging. Alberta Ballet provides free performance tickets and recreational dance classes to newcomers in Edmonton, Calgary and other communities across the province through immigrant serving agencies.

Thank you to Enbridge Fueling Futures for its ongoing support of this program.

If you are interested in supporting Alberta Ballet with the delivery of these programs, or have questions please reach out to Janis Galloway, Community Impact Officer at JanisG@albertaballet.com
